The Ethos Group support our school in its Christian ethos by:
- Leading 'Out of the Box' Collective Worship
- Supporting Reverend Gina by doing the readings for his Collective Worship
- Taking part in an annual Collective Worship survey
- Leading prayers at our services and celebrations in St. Matthew's Church
- Helping Mrs Neville during events such as The Big Brekkie
- Attending local coffee mornings for elderly residents of the parish
Thank you to our Ethos Group for helping Reverend Gina lead a joyful Christingle Service. We celebrated the light Jesus brought into the world and thought about how we can shine.
The Ethos Group enjoyed attending the Landscove Village Coffee Morning. They chatted to local residents, handed out invites to our Key Stage One Nativity dress rehearsal and ate some delicious cakes (of course!) The residents were delighted to hear all about the wonderful things we have been doing in school recently, including author week.
Will Watson invited us to take part in an exciting meadow restoration project. Gloria’s Ford, the steep bank between Landscove and Green Lane, is rich in a wide variety of species. However, as an island, it is separated from other meadows. Our job was be to collect wildflower and grass seed, which will be propagated at a later date.
Christian Aid's Big Brekkie
Whilst enjoying our croissants, we reflected on how the money raised will go towards helping those people worst hit by the climate crisis to regain control of their lives and build a more positive future.
As coffee mornings cannot take place at the moment, we thought of an alternative way to stay connected with our local community. Several residents received a delightful Autumn pot.
