Welcome to Class 3
Years 3 and 4

This year we are very excited to be delivering a full curriculum, as well as taking time to ensure our mental health and well-being remain a priority. We like to base as much of our learning as we can around a range of topics from the Romans to rainforests. Please see this page for termly topic overviews, detailing coverage in each subject.
Alongside our lessons in class, we aim to broaden children's learning experiences by using every opportunity to make the most of our wonderful outdoor resources, explore our local community and provide enrichment activities such as FaB days, Arts Week and class trips.
In science this week, Class 3 were learning about friction and forces. They made predictions, observations and recorded the results in a table measuring the friction created by different surfaces.
Today, Class Three visited MMV, an Energy from Waste plant in Plymouth, to learn about their process of turning waste from Devon into energy. The children did a carousel of activities including a site tour, EfW team quiz and a scientific activity focusing on different resources and energies.
Class Three were learning to count to ten in our Spanish lesson this week. The children played a game of number tennis, counting to ten.
Class 3 thoroughly enjoyed their full day at Forest School. They took part in many activities, including searching and identifying different minibeasts and leaves. The children had a chance to try sawing wood, making fires, and working in small teams to build woodland dens. We all ate lunch together around the campfire. Overall, it was a fantastic day, and we are all looking forward to the next one.
In science Class Three are enjoying learning about the three main types of rocks. They have made observations about their different characteristics and used a fair test to investigate their properties.
