As a school we value the thoughts, ideas and opinions of all our children and the school council is one way of ensuring the 'voice' of all the children is heard, listened to and acted upon.
The children on the council are elected by their peers and attend regular child-led meetings. They are responsible for sharing ideas from their classes and leading a variety of projects and events that matter to them. The work of the school council can, and does have a real impact on the whole school community. The children feel they have 'ownership' over aspects of their school lives.
The school council have a board in the entrance area showing who the councillors are and there is also a suggestion wallet for children to pop in ideas or suggestions they want raised at our meetings.

Friday 21st March
What a Rocking Red Nose Day school council organised for Comic Relief today! The whole school looks fantastic dressed in red and we've raised a Whopping £200!

Friday 28th February
Today School Council met with Mrs Barons to discuss our next project. Next week we will be composing letters to local businesses to ask for donations towards our EYFS area - specifically, some play sand for our new sandpit.
Children's Mental Health Week
For Children's Mental Health Week this year School Council planned a Monday morning wake and shake with Mr Tanner, mindfulness colouring at lunch times, and a Dress to Express yourself day on Friday. It was great to see the whole school take part!
Friday 20th December
Congratulations to our Christmas Jumper Design Winners! School Council had a very tricky job this week choosing the winner and today they handed out the prizes! Well done to everyone who took part and thank you for all your donations this week! We raised £80 for Save the Children which will support families across the world.
Friday 15th November
WOW!! What a fantastic Children In Need day we have had today! Everyone looks fabulous in their costumes and we raised nearly £300 for children in need!!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated towards the charity, and donated their delicious baked goods for our bake sale.
