Friends of Landscove School (FOLS)

Danielle Merchant will continue to organise the Bags2school and the 100 club.

Susy Parker will continue to run the second-hand uniform

 

WHAT WE DO

FOLs is a fundraising group registered with the Charities Commission, which organises events and activities to raise much needed additional resources for the school, for the benefit of the children. Any parent of a child at Landscove is a member of FOLs. We have our own e-mail updates which we encourage interested parties to sign up to for to find out about what’s happening, what we’ve raised, what we have spent money on. 

Previous projects and fundraising have enabled the school to...

• have an annual arts week with an artist in residence
• have an annual science week with experts joining the children and staff
• have a school mini bus
• build a play trail on the field
• have an outdoor classroom on the field
• support all pupils to attend trips and residentials
• have up to date interactive white boards in every classroom and the hall

FOLS tries to balance its role by putting on events which are both fun for children, parents and staff and also raise funds to assist the school.

Regular events put on by FOLS include film nights for the children, children’s parties, mufti days, silent discos, an annual Summer Fair and Christmas Fair including Santa’s grotto. During the summer term FOLS sell ice creams for the children to enjoy a Friday afternoon treat on the school field. We also support the village community fairs and markets.


100 CLUB

FOLS runs a 100 Club which costs £4 a month to be entered into the monthly draw. Half of the funds goes into the 100 Club account to assist the school and half is paid out to the winner. The draw takes place on the last Friday of each month during a school assembly. Numbers are still available so to be in with a chance of winning up to £200 each month please contact fols@outlook.com or Danielle Merchant. Anyone can take part including parents, staff, grandparents and neighbours.


BAGS 2 SCHOOL

FOLS arranges 2 Bags 2 School collections each year which is a great way to allow parents, staff and local people to get rid of unwanted clothes etc in return for FOLS funds. Contact fols@outlook.com if you would like to know when the next collection will take place

•         £160 – Lino cutting workshops classes 3 & 4
•         £450 – Whole school author visit.
•         £1986.77 – Continuing improvement of forest school area.
